As Kanye West recovers from a nervous breakdown, while living away from his family in a rental home, Kim Kardashian is considering if and how she should end her marriage to the volatile rapper and fashion mogul, a new report says
She wants a divorce,” a Kardashian friend claims in the new issue of Us Weekly
However, sources are telling TMZ that the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star is not hatching a plan to exit the 2 1/2-year marriage. In fact, the two have grown closer together since West’s hospitalizations and Kardashian’s traumatizing Oct. 3 armed robbery in Paris, TMZ said
E! News, the official home of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality show empire, rushed to issue a denial and tweeted out: “Calm down everyone: Kim and Kanye are not divorcing
Certainly, intending to hightail it from the marriage is not the picture Kardashian has presented to the public, as West reportedly battled paranoia and what was called “temporary psychosis” during an emergency nine-day stay at UCLA Medical Center
After West’s hospitalization on Nov. 21, Kardashian, 36, canceled a high-profile appearance at a charity gala in New York City on behalf of her late father Robert Kardashian to rush back to Los Angeles. It was to have been her first public outing since the robbery, when she was held up at gunpoint in a private apartment and robbed of millions of dollars in jewelry
Once Kardashian touched down in Los Angeles, numerous reports depicted her as barely leaving her husband’s side while he remained in the hospital
It also was reported that upon his release from the hospital, West returned home to the 9,000-square-foot Bel Air estate the couple share with their two children, North, 3, and Saint, who just turned 1. But US Weekly said that’s not the case. West’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” wife didn’t want him to be around their children
Various sources agree that the last several months have been rough on the Kimye union. Following the robbery, Kardashian hoped to lean on her husband for emotional support but he was busy with his Saint Pablo tour and apparently spiraling out of control mentally and emotionally
His Nov. 21 hospitalization, reportedly for “exhaustion,” followed weeks of increasingly erratic behavior, including going on spending sprees and launching rants at performances in San Jose and Sacramento, cutting performances short and then canceling the remaining dates of his tour altogether
“Kanye and Kim had a stressful few months,” an insider told People. “It’s been a tense time. But Kim is happy he’s getting help
Us Weekly presents a far more dire portrait of the state of their marriage, reporting that Kardashian is investigating if and how she can exit the marriage in the least contentious way possible. She has been married and divorced twice before — to record producer Damon Thomas and basketball pro Kris Humphries — but she didn’t have children with those men
She’s not rushing to file papers just yet, but is considering her next steps, the friend said
