Any fanatical fans trying to jump on actor Tom Hardy should think twice - as his bodyguard seems very well prepared for danger.

The British heartthrob was surrounded by star-struck women as he made his way to a party last night with his well-dressed security guard by his side.

But a photo of the actor's aide shows a number of tools, including what looks like a folding knife and high-powered torch, hanging on the inside of his jacket to take care of any eventuality.

Hardy, 38, was on his way to a bash at the Groucho nightclub in Soho after the première of his film The Revenant in the West End.

The actor has a reputation for playing hard-man characters, and featured as both of the Kray twins in last year's film Legend and the bootlegging Forrest Bondurant in crime thriller Lawless
